It’s a story about a specialized military unit fighting a powerful and uncontrollable Supercomputer, and many scientists who are turned into flesh-eating monsters after a lab accident. A T-virus is unleashed by an evil corporation called Umbrella Corp, and it infests the earth with zombies, monsters, and demons. A former employee goes rogue and joins her friends to storm the corporation and stop its evil activities.

Dawn of the Dead (2004), a remake of the original 1978 sequel, is the story of a daughter who turns into a zombie and attacks her mother. After barely managing to escape, the mother soon realizes that her entire neighborhood is teeming with zombies. A policeman questions her before she joins him along with a group of survivors and heads to their local shopping center to seek refuge. After convincing wary security personnel that they’re not contaminated, this group of people joins forces to destroy the zombies. However, their sanctuary soon becomes their prison as hordes of zombies descend on it in such numbers, escaping becomes impossible. But that doesn’t stop a few more survivors from turning up at the mall seeking refuge as they eventually overcome the zombies.

The good news is that you can star in your own version of the zombie apocalypse by playing in the Great Escape Room. In this room, there’s only one way out, but that is the least of your worries. That’s because lying in wait in the shadows are zombies trying to break free from their chains. And you will have only one hour to solve clues and riddles and make your way out before the flesh-eating creatures break free from their chains. Trapped in a room with a zombie is a scary experience and it will set your pulse racing as you attempt to find your freedom with the help of 11 other people.

Zombie Hunters Of Hollywood https://greatroomescape.com/blog/zombie-hunters/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/zombie-hunters/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:24:46 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2931 In the List of Best Zombie Hunters Throughout Hollywood History, we find Milla Jovovich who played Alice in the movie called Resident Evil. She was born in Ukraine and has many talents that boosted her career. Apart from being an actress, supermodel, and fashion designer, she can also sing. Not only is she sexy, but she’s also a badass and plays the heroine in the Resident Evil franchise. She’s a zombie slayer and the success of her movie means that a sixth installment is now being produced.

A list of Best Zombie Hunters Throughout Hollywood History wouldn’t be complete without Danny Trejo, who plays Jesús in the movie aptly named Zombie Hunter. It’s a story about a world that has been changed into a wasteland filled with zombies. A street gang has turned junkies into hordes of zombies, and Jesús is determined to hunt down the flesh-eating creatures with his vehicle and guns. His Chevy Camaro may be beaten up, but his trunk is full of rifles and booze. Apart from hunting zombies for sport, he’s also looking for redemption and a way to escape his past. After meeting with a gang of survivors, he helps them to survive using his skills.

The good news is that you can follow in the footsteps of these famous Hollywood zombie films by pitting your wits against zombies in the Zombie Room. It is an escape room in which you find yourself trapped with a zombie. There’s only one way out and you must solve a series of clues and puzzles in order to escape. Time is ticking since you have an hour in which to find your way out. Fortunately, you’re not alone since you have eleven other people pitching in with their thoughts and ideas as you brainstorm on how to get out before the zombie breaks from its chains. You will have the time of your life as you scramble to try and find your way out as the zombie threatens to break free at any time.

Things To Do In San Antonio https://greatroomescape.com/blog/things-to-do-sa/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/things-to-do-sa/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:23:39 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2929 San Antonio is a beautiful city filled with all kinds of landmarks, heritage centers, and historical points of interest. But what if you’re looking for a weekend activity that’s a little more exciting than the usual tourist attractions? If you want a fun, out-of-the-box experience during your trip to the Lone Star State, here are just five unique things to do in San Antonio.

  1. Ghost Tours

One of the quirks of San Antonio is the prevalence of “ghost tours” that take visitors around churches, bridges, graveyards, and abandoned buildings. Some relay gossip about real-life murders and the spirits that supposedly linger after the violence; others pass on myths and folk legends about the otherworldly nature of the sights. Are you brave enough to seek out a San Antonio ghost tour? You might take something home with you that you didn’t anticipate.

  1. Unusual Animal Collections

Most people go to the San Antonio Zoo when they want a dose of nature’s creatures. If you like to live on the wild side, however, you might hit up the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch or the Texas Snake Farm. The latter is especially renowned for its hands-on approach that allows visitors to hold its slithering, sibilant masses. Some people even pose for selfies with snakes wrapped around their necks!

  1. Escape Rooms

Could you find your way out of a locked room with nothing but clues and puzzles hidden inside it? What if you were locked in that same escape room with a dozen strangers all trying to do the same thing? There’s nothing like an escape game to get your mind racing and your blood pumping, so you’ll definitely want to check out San Antonio’s “locked box” mysteries during your next vacation.

  1. Quirky Museums

The Frontier Times Museum has an entire collection devoted to two-headed things. Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Art Museum displays toilet seats bedazzled with glitter and jewels. There’s no shortage of strange, off-beat museums in the greater San Antonio area, so don’t make the mistake of thinking that all museums are boring. Some of them can be the most fun things to do in the entire city.

  1. Roadside Attractions

Last but certainly not least, you can’t visit San Antonio without doing the road trip thing and hitting up all of the city’s oversized oddities. For example, “the world’s biggest cowboy boots” eclipse the local mall while gigantic wax monsters loom over everyone at the Plaza Wax Museum. The best thing about these attractions is that they’re fun for all ages and genders, so they’ll make an unusual and enjoyable family activity for everyone.

These are just a few unique experiences that you can have during your next trip to San Antonio. Whether it’s fighting through an escape room or petting an animal that you usually aren’t allowed to pet, the most important thing is that you’re pushing your limits and venturing beyond your comfort zone. This is the only way that you’ll enjoy a truly unforgettable vacation!

Making Your Great Escape – What Is An Escape Room? https://greatroomescape.com/blog/what-is-an-escape-room/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/what-is-an-escape-room/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:22:31 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2927 A lot of people are asking, “what is an escape room?” From team building to night club alternative, escape rooms are now all the craze. • What are escape rooms?
  • What was the first escape room?
  • Why are they so popular?
  • What should I expect in my escape room experience?
  • What is an escape room like?
  • Who can play?
  • Don’t Wait! Begin your Escape Room adventure now!

What are escape rooms?

While many rooms can fit up to 10 people, the best balance is between 4 to 6 players. This has a number of benefits – it keeps the number of people who speak up to a minimum, it gives everyone space to work, it lets you divide up the number of people who are working in the room, and keeps things manageable. It’s not the number in a team that ensures success, it’s how well everyone can work together to tackle the room’s challenges. A manageable number of people can fit into the theme of the room can help increase your score. If you have a group of 10 people or more, you may want to split your group up into two teams who take on the room at different times or tackle two different rooms. One of the biggest “escape room cheats” is having a well-prepared team.

What was the first escape room?

If you ask, “what is Escape The Room”, you may get a video game answer. The first escape room began with a video game. Toshimitsu Takagi created the concept in the video game Crimson Room, a point and click adventure game created in 2004. By 2007, the Japanese company SCRAP created the first live escape room. The concept spread rapidly between 2007 and 2013, first to China and then into Europe, eventually making its way into the United States. The first live escape rooms started appearing in the United States by 2013. Their explosive popularity had people asking “what is an escape room game?” all over the world, since escape room games combine unique elements of problem-solving, mystery, and role-play that no one had seen before.

Why are they so popular?

Escape rooms are an incredibly immersive team-building mystery experience. They combine the best elements of live-action roleplaying, whodunit, and a little bit of tension as players are ‘trapped’ up to a certain time limit. Escape rooms call for teamwork, a cool head, and wits, as players solve the immersive and entertaining puzzles that make up an escape room. Escape rooms make a great way for family groups of friends, and even teammates at work to come together to make use of group problem-solving skills, develop leadership abilities, and enjoy a great mystery.

What should I expect in my escape room experience?
What is an escape room like?

An escape room takes 60 minutes to play. When you arrive (and arrive on time!) you’ll be briefed by a game master as to the backstory of the room, what the safety and other rules are, and what you can expect. Make sure to secure your belongings and use the washroom before you begin, as you will be locked in the room for 1 hour with no cell phone.Escape rooms can come in a variety of themes – horror, fantasy dungeon adventure, sci-fi, spy thriller, and so on. Once the game master is done briefing you, your escape room adventure will begin! Don’t forget that you will have several hints that you can ask your game master for. If your entire team is stuck, don’t hesitate to ask your game master will help you. Even if you are out of hints, still ask your game master. Maybe you just need a clue clarified, or a piece of information repeated.

Who can play?

At Great Room Escape, players who are ages 7 to 12 can play if accompanied by an adult. Players ages 13 and up can join in but will need to be accompanied by an adult at check-in. We advise pregnant women in their 3rd trimester should contact us for details of the room – some rooms involve a lot of movement, and we want all our guests to have a great experience. See our FAQ for more information.

Our 3 Favorite Mystery Movies https://greatroomescape.com/blog/favorite-mystery-movies/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/favorite-mystery-movies/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:20:53 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2925 Mystery is one of the most cherished genres in cinematography. Since the early days of cinema, the idea of intriguing the audience and making them wonder what is actually going on has always appealed to filmmakers. The same tradition continued unabated to this day, which is why there are many great mystery films to enjoy. But, some of them are simply outstanding in every way, and because of that, here are 3 of our favorite mystery movies.

The Sixth Sense

A horror mystery film from the late 1990s, The Sixth Sense is a true cultural phenomenon almost from the day it started showing in movie theaters. In the film, a bewildered counselor working in New York realizes that all of a sudden, he can see ghosts of dead people. As he begins to explore this unnerving discovery, he is taken on a personal journey that will lead him to a place he, just like the audience, would otherwise never have suspected.

Citizen Kane

A classic of US cinematography, this mystery film was celebrated by fans and critics for decades and for all the good reasons. The movie follows the rise of a strange billionaire magnate and the evolution of his incredible life. Both of these create a perfect stage for questions like who he really was and what is the mysterious rosebud that keeps begins referenced in the film. Citizen Kane is both a sharp critique of the modern industrial society and a heartbreaking mystery drama, which is why it stood the test of time and is considered one of the best films ever made.

Memento

Named after a Latin word for memory, this film follows a man who was injured in a way that stops him from making any short-term memory. But, this does not stop him from hunting for his wife’s killers, while all he has to go on is a series of cryptic tattoos he carries on his body as permanent messages to himself. Directed by the brilliant Christopher Nolan, the film single-handedly managed to create a whole new benchmark for an engaging and unpredictable mystery thriller.
With any one of these excellent mystery movies we love, anyone can immerse themselves in some of the best works that were created in this art form.

History Of Zombies https://greatroomescape.com/blog/zombie-history/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/zombie-history/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:18:38 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2921 A zombie refers to a human being in a state between life and death, who has no will, human recognition, or all other spiritual or mental aspects that are present in a normal human being.

The word zombie is said to originate from the Haitian word zombi’ meaning spirit of the day. The theory goes that a long time ago, voodoo priests used to give people black powder which was gotten from animals and plants that had tetrodotoxin, a neurotoxin that is known to cause paralysis or even worse death. The priests would then bury the subjects and later remove them from their graves while physically alive but having their minds erased thus turning them into mindless drones. This led to the origin of zombies.

The first-ever written documents about zombies dated back around 2100 BC from a poem titled “Epic of Gilgamesh” which proves that people used to believe in zombies since long ago. Various communities all over the world had their own burial rights and believed that failure to follow those rights, would cause the spirit of the dead not to move on to the next world’ and thus return back to seek retribution from the family. The Chinese referred to these hungry ghosts who came back to eat their family members for the improper burial as Jiang Shi’ which meant zombies.

Nowadays, although different communities maintain their beliefs, the majority of people do not believe in the existence of zombies. Zombies have found their way to TV shows and films since 1932. Again movies and games have recently come up about the zombies however they do not portray them as scary but rather as fun creatures to kill while gaming.

Horror Video Games https://greatroomescape.com/blog/horror-video-games/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/horror-video-games/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:17:43 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2919 One of the most celebrated genres of entertainment is horror. It explores the scariest characters, stories, and environments. A collection of lasting franchises has been created in this genre. Fans visit movie theaters in millions to watch horror movies and their sequels. Today, video games have taken the thrill up a notch by immersing you right into the horrific environments as a character. Here are some of the scariest horror video games today.

Until Dawn

This is a 2016 horror video game released for Playstation 4. It combines all the characteristics of slasher movies into one blood-soaked, creepy horror video game. In the game, a group of 8 teenagers is vacationing in a cabin in the woods. While there, they are attacked by a psycho killer. As the player, you can cycle through different characters to solve the mystery of the slasher. With every character you choose, you can experience a different perspective of the game, unique scares, and death sequences. Until Dawn allows you to make different decisions throughout the life of each character. This makes it the ultimately playable horror video game.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly

This is possibly the scariest video game ever made. It is a survival horror video game that documents the story of two identical sisters in Japan. They explore a village that has been abandoned and meet various paranormal creatures. In the game, the only way to defeat the scary creatures is to view them through a vintage device known as a Camera Obscura. You have to take photos of the creatures repeatedly so that they can die. Many professional video game players who experienced Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly were unable to finish it. It was originally released for PlayStation 2 but is also available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Wii.

Conclusion

Horror video games are fun, exciting, and often chilling. The titles described above are bound to satisfy your need for scares. If they are not enough, you can jump right into a real-life horror game set up known as the Great Room Escape.

How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse https://greatroomescape.com/blog/survive-zombie-apocalypse/ https://greatroomescape.com/blog/survive-zombie-apocalypse/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:12:54 +0000 http://18.219.184.70/?p=2917 Just because a Zombie Apocalypse has not happened yet does not mean it won’t. It’s no longer about whether zombies are real not. It’s about how prepared you are in case of a zombie apocalypse. Will you pull through the undead onslaught? Here are some of the tips to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

  1. Devise a plan

It is better to be prepared so that you don’t be caught unaware by zombies. Devise a plan that will see you overpower’ zombies. Other than being vigilant, identify a safe assembling area as well as the easiest route to get there. That done, locate the nearest hospitals, banks, gas stations, and other important buildings. Also, know every exit of your town and always have a map with you.

  1. Ensure your house is well-protected

If your house is not zombie-proof, it is high time you make some modifications to it. While zombies aren’t too clever, they are super strong. This means that you need to have enough barricades to prevent them from breaking in. Zombies have difficulties climbing, so always aim for higher grounds.

Well, unless you are physically fit, you may not outrun them. Get in strength training workouts and cardio to become physically fit. You can also take part in Great Room Escape, where you will be locked up in an escape room with other participants, and you are to use your skills to escape within an hour. The goal is to get fit and acquire skills.

  1. Work as a team

Survival in the case of a zombie attack is more likely if you work as a team than if go the individual way. Work together as a group, watch other’s backs, and take turns being on the lookout to stay alive.
